His Yoke
Oh gentle Savior give to me
That yoke you promised;
light and free.
Trust me with your load of care
for others, Lord;
Help me to share
their pains
in mercy;
be their brace -
to bear their burdens, Lord
With grace.
And as you give Your heart to me –
open eyes, help others see
It’s You, in love, who bears MY pain
-with You in me e’en loss is gain.
And be my way as dim as night
Your yoke is sweet;
Your burden light.
Oh, open eyes that all might see
It’s You, my God
Who carries me.

I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me

And this past week was a living example of that. Beautiful poem! Praise Him for flowing through my brothers and sisters, too. in Him, Gerrie
ryc: I just happened to be at the computer installing something my dad sent me and “talking” to him on email, and I always have the xanga up… it dings or lights up when a new “sub” entry or comment comes in, so I got curious and went and looked….just in the right time and place! Hope the day went ok. Oh yes, btw, the poem IS partly a prayer…sometimes an urgent one!
in Him, Gerrie
He always carry our burden if we let HIM carry it…that was a wonderful post.. thanks for sharing…

It is no longer I who live, but Christ in me – one of my favorites. I always think of Jesus saying: I of Myself can do nothing; the Father within Me…..
That’s how I want my life to be.
Oh, this is almost a poem…..gives me ideas…..:)
Blessings…..
Be His forever…..
Debating on whether to comment or email…praise from you and Karen on my first posted poem means a lot to me, cuz you two are the BEST poets around here…(there are other good ones, but I like you two the best)! your poem is exactly my attitude, especially the last 2 verses…the ONLY good in me is Christ in me. Blessings and mazeltov(you know what I mean:)
I am always touched by your poetry. You have such wisdom in Christ, and I thank Him for you.
I have a friend here on xanga who enjoys writing music (she is a piano player/teacher) would you be offended if I suggested your site to her?
yes, He is.
This one sounds like it wants a meldoy. I can almost hear it.
“…I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body,
I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me
and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20″
Sometimes I wish I could truely give up me living and allow Christ to live in me…I see verses like these and wonder how Truth evolved in Pauls mind and heart. I find myself wanting to exude this verse, but I also find it hard to allow me to die to myself that Christ might truely live in me…
Thanks for your comment on my site. I completely agree with you…the whole we would live as “independent” people/individuals diven by “self” is the direction in which my next post is written…or atleast the idea that I’m trying to convey.
Seems everywhere I go today
I see your seeds of grace
And when I read the things you say
I see God’s smiling face
Blessings to you
For all you do
Your words really denote kindness…I find it in everyone of your posts..In each of your comments..to anyone…
Thank you , Jim..Thank you, for being…
Blessings and a hug,
lucy
Ryc: Hi yourself:) Your hello meant a lot, because I’m at home sick today. Been reading fishtree and Breath of Dawn… Praise God for His patience.
RYC: Wow, you’re right, Jim. And it goes right along with the idea of not having preconceived notions about what it is He is transforming us into, but just letting Him do the work.
And I’m not sure it’s even work for Him. I am beginning to think that just the closeness, the union with Him is what does it. There are times when I know I am engulfed in His presence, gripped by what I call “the silence,” not knowing what is passing between us, but knowing that I am held firmly in His embrace.
thank you jim
I really enjoy your poetry.
Thank you for your kindness, as always.
Thanks for sharing!
This poem rings heavy in my heart, much like the beatitudes. I particuraly like the thought in Galatians 6:2 about bearing each others burdens as well as the ending…….”Oh, open eyes that all might see It’s You, my God Who carries me.”
Amen, thank you Jim for another beautiul thought
Hola. Breath of Dawn said you were here. And that you like Mexico too, so I thought I would visit. When I have time I will read some of your entries and thanks. Oh ya, check out Fernando Ortega too. He’s good:)

RYC:
Thank you for visting my site and for awesome insights – I always pray to see as the blind man!
I love that poem Jim. My mom and I just finished reading a section out of a book we’re reading called Velvit Elvis by Rob Bell….its and amazing book…and he was talking about the importance of sabbath in our souls and that kind of thing, so its interesting you speak of the burden being light and resting in Jesus! and about the song on my site, yup, that one has music and it will be going on the cd that my friend and I are making. we’re gonna start recording next week!! her dad has it all set up for us now. we’re gonna do a couple at a time. We won’t be starting with that one though. we’ll probably start with one called “Forgiven” by Tricia and one called “Dance” by me. talk to you soon ~Heather
ryc: Thank you so much! I really think it’s prayer making the difference, even if it’s only in me. btw, the kids wear lanyards to hold their lunch cards, and William’s says “I love Jesus.” I wonder if they’re Christians. His parents came to open house, even his aunt and uncle! Very sweet people. I’ll pray for you at work, too. God bless your day and the whole unit through you. Gerrie
hellooooooooooo and have a blessed day
Thanks for your visit and comment. Had my first day at the new place. I worry I oversold myself. Or my resume oversold me. I always worry about letting people down.
Please keep me in your prayers. I like this day thing. I’m remembering how much I love the 4am silence, the splash of splendor against the night sky in the canopy of stars. *sigh*
Jim, I am continually amazed at your gift of prose! You really should publish a collection of your psalms.
I agree with Sammy. You should publish the collection. I’m leaving this comment as a “hello I’m thinking of you,” in case you check this during your busy day. I can’t do it from school, they block Xanga
So I’m doing it now in the morning so it’s here next time you check it:):):) God bless your day and the whole unit… Gerrie
God bless you Jim! Thank you for your exhortation!
Love in Christ,
Paul
Came by to give you a hug…

Interesting.
beautiful lyrics, song poem above. It must be a song. Life is such a balance of helping and needing help……..
It is a good poem. Even if we help others with their burdens, though, it is God doing it.
Heather
I enjoyed your poem, you surely have a gift, I enjoy reading them.
Be Blessed Bro,
Mike
Dear Jim,
Thank you so much for your encouraging word and your exhortation. I also thank you for your love and for your prayer. I know that this is a battle I can win in Christ, and it helps so much to have brothers in Christ fighting by my side. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Love in Christ,
Paul
How are you?
A superhug,
lucy
