  • edit: I’ll be leaving the “mellow music” up a little longer this first week;
    probably another day or two, then the usual player will be back…jim)

    It’s “Mellow Monday”

    What, you may ask, is mellow Monday?
    The answer?..”not much..I just decided to put up some
    soft, “ease into the week ” music on Mondays to help you all with that transition…enjoy!

    It was recently commented to me that I seem to be conquering the world,
    one family member at a time, since at the moment I have children on
    4 continents…

    Matt Weddingpics 016, as most of you know, is in Iraq,
    holding down Asia
    Arabia
    (okay, Asia Minor)

    Rachel’s in Ghana IMG_2455[1], so her realm is AfricaWestAfrica

    Noelle NoellmatTedcrop is in Spain, handling EuropeIberia

    and Sarah Weddingpics 059 is taking care of things
    in Michigan/N. America.

    Although I find this humorous, it reminds me of an
    important point.

    We all extend far more influence in
    this world than we realize..
    the people we touch may travel far and wide,
    and may, indeed carry the seeds of our actions to them,
    and interactions with them; to others
    whom we’ll never meet.

    The reassurance we can give (or withhold), sometimes in as
    simple a form as a silent hug or smile,
    may translate to love and reassurance given to another;
    DSC00048
     hundreds or even thousands of miles away.

    Social commenters have observed that each individual in our society
    is in more or less regular contact with about 500 others
    through family, school, church, work, and such.
    The words we give, the honesty and love
    we show, and the Jesus we bear
    can be sent to the world in an untold number of ways..

    So THIS monday, remember that you are an ambassador of an
    amazing, loving God;
    and give Him to someone nearby to pass on
    to the world.

    love, jim

  • How neat it is to meet a fellow xanga bro or sister…fyi…I like your pic of Gandalf….I love the scene where he tells everyone that he will return in the east, then he shows up with the sun at his back mounted on a white horse, very apocolyptic/2nd coming to me….be blessed….Mike

  • The girls have beautiful smiles. (Matt probably does too but he isn’t smiling)

    Wow, that is all over the world! It must be a great feeling and yet a very far away feeling Sounds like you are a blessed father for sure. We have a son in Iraq too. His name is Nicholas. Its weird to think of him so far away. I agree with what you said today, about what we do effects others, big or small. I think even at the store  when we treat someone with loving kindness it does something IN them. Imagin what we can do for our own kids. Again I am convicted today….Gods really doing something in me today.
