Going through some photos of Matt (my son), as he returned to Iraq,
I was struck by the tenderness of this Military Police Sergeant
comforting his new wife.
“What has the power to
soothe anger, calm
violence, and bring
peace to tense
situations? It’s gentleness. “
…Matt Redman
May God bless all our soldiers with the strength and
courage to protect the weak , and the wisdom and gentleness to
comfort them as well.
(…and may God grant our leaders the wisdom to know how to
bring home our sons and daughters)

That was heart touching and breaking as well. May God bless him thru this and give him his wisdom to do good in the world.
That picture made me tear up.
God take care of Matt! He’s a good guy, like his father. And God take care of his wife and children too:) And God take care of YOU, my brother. Love you all, Gerrie
Amen to that!
I think he learned his tendersness from you. What a beautiful picture.
Beautiful. Thank you so much. Prayers for ALL our guys. And yes, even for our enemies, as Deborah laments. YET – we must protect the innocent. Thanks and prayers.
RYC: *hug* Thanks
I had a cardiac workup and lipid panel a couple weeks ago. All is well, but I think I’d better work on keeping it that way, plus I really need to lose the cake and pie clinging to my middle.
I hope all goes well with Matt.
My greatest respect for any human is for the military people. Please let your son know he has our support and prayers.
Good suggestion for Debbie…I’ll have to try that…..hope you have a great day in Him
Mike
What a powerful picture…
I think it captures what thousands of words couldn’t…
the cost to family and the sacrifice made by those in uniform and those with loved ones in uniform…
I’m glad you were able to spend time with your mom, though I imagine that its equally hard on you and other family members with her fading memory…
God bless you Jim!
Keep us posted from time to time about your son!
When is your son due to be back stateside?
Thanks for the encouraging comments! Be blessed today…Mike

Wow,
Sept. 21st is a while…
I’m praying tonight…
I can’t imagined being married in the military…I’m much a single man I suppose
what a beautiful moment you captured there. I will continue to pray for him.
just stopping by, saying hi, praying for your son.
awww Jim, that is beautiful. Made me cry. Sigh… I am praying for your Son’s safety in Iraq, and that God would give his wife the strength to endure this season of seperation, and that God would be your comfort and covering as you cover your son (child; children) and his family in the blood. I pray that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. God bless you Jim. OH! Do you have myspace??
Takes me back to when I was leaving for the war in Saudi Arabia/Iraq/Kuwait ……. May God bless your son and his family! We are proud of his service and sacrifice! God bless you my friend!

Hey Jim!,
Great to hear from you. So sorry I havn’t communicated in a while. In the middle of selling our house and buying a new one in Texas. Will update soon on that.
Praise God for people like your son. I make it a point to thank our men and women in uniform every time I see one out in public.
So you did the beignets huh? Looks like you did a very good job. I am glad you enjoyed them.
Be blessed,
Ray
RYC: Hope you feel better soon. I feel your pain, though not so much since I quit putting artificial sweetners in my tea and started working out.
I actually got through last night pretty well, but by the time I drove home I was feeling almost too sore and stiff to get out of the car. But I think the extra calcium and magnesium helped – didn’t have the leg aching and muscle tightening I usually get at night.
If I could do nights, I’d have more choices, but the key for me is MY choice, not someone else’s, not as a demand, not feeling owned. That seems to be really important to me now.
Hi Jim, It’s been a long time once again… and as always when I come here, I’m blessed. This time by the picture, and by your prayer, which is mine, too. In fact, I copied it into my prayer journal. I shall add Matt to the prayers of people that I know of serving for our country. Our younger son Shaun will be going back over. He was over there for over a year; he’s been back for a couple of years; and now he has orders to return sometime between Thanksgiving (07) and Feb. (08). (…and may God grant our leaders the wisdom to know how to bring home our sons and daughters)
Blessings to you…. Carolyn
