4/27/07 I’m working on a way to get you easy links to my Selah music;
’till then, here’s the link to “By and By” with the baptism recording
(from the Congo) at the beginning:

Selah
aaaaand…re-edit: Some of you seemed to like the music by Selah, so I’ve added the
rest of the album,(The Hiding Place). Selections # 10 through 21 below are the album contents …
…ENJOY them!
Edit: …so, for someone who loves God-based music..I just learned something
very cool which I probably should have known already. The Christian music group, “Selah”,
does a lot of African (specifically Congolese) music. Todd and Nicol, 2 of the 3 group members,
were raised in the Congo; grandchildren (and I suspect children) of missionaries.
In the new song track I’ve added below, “By and By”, You can hear Todd’s grandfather speaking
from an old radio broadcast. In the liner to their album “Hiding Place”,
they tell the story that so many people were accepting Christ at that time, that
the Belgian government banned baptisms for two years, thinking that the people
were overemotional (hysterical?) , and didn’t know what they were doing. In the first baptism service
when re-allowed (the recording you hear is from that service), over 1,000 people were immersed.
What an awesome legacy God has given through that family.

So…Rachel finally sent a CD of photos from Ghana
(I’ve modified the music..it’s all worshipping God, so
even if you don’t understand all the words,
enjoy the warmth and the sentiment..it’s
wonderful!)
Children at a YWAM-sponsored school on the 50th anniversary of Ghana’s independence.
(which, Rachel kindly pointed out, makes Ghana younger than me.)
Helen and Haruna, with Rachel.
Helen is a former YWAM staffer,
and Haruna is currently on staff.
Below are Rachel and her classmates, visiting one of the Mercy Ships
which was in port in Ghana. Cool side note: on the ship Rachel ran into
a former schoolmate (high school of 50 students)!
…and here’s Rachel,
dressed in traditional garb,
going to a wedding.
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.” Psalm 127:3……………
I have, indeed, been blessed by The Lord; bless His Name forever!

The pic of Rachel is beautiful. She has a wonderful smile and you can see what I call a ‘clearness” in her face and around her. Good stuff.
I love seeing these pics of people from other countries.
RYC:
es, Jim, God knows how to give good gifts to his children. The focus, I believe, is on how good God is. The Holy Spirit is one of the good gifts he gives.
I think Jesus – of course – hit it right on.
You know how to give good things to your children.
How much more……….
In any arena where man can show human goodness, human kindness…
How much more………….

Wow
Praise God for your daughter, who’s indeed an inheritance
I’m glad that YWAM also have a ministry at Ghana!
RYC: Yes my mother was an amazing lady. She always gave unselfishly of herself to anyone in need. There was always a hand extended to anyone willing to take hold. She loved unconditionallyn in a most amazing way. I remember when my husband and I had seperated and I went to visit her, so upset with him….I ranted and railed against him, and she just allowed me to vent. Finally I looked at her and said something like, “Wellllll……..don’t you agree with me????” She just looked at me in that loving way she had and said to me, “You’re my daughter-in-law and I lvov you dearly. He is my son, who I also love. I’m here to listen to you, to let you cry…so you have somewhere to say whatever it is you need to say…but I WILL NOT take sides. If he needs an ear I will be there for him as well….At first I was stunned, then it dawned on me how icredibly precious a woman she was…that she loved me was such a great blessing in my life. Everyone should be as fortunate as I was to experience having such a great mother-in-law. I’ve no doubt she is sitting with Jesus right now sipping a “real English” cuppa and letting Him know just what she thought about the “religiosity” of living in a Catholic convent boarding school…..Yup…she was amazing.
Oops…I meant mother- in -law….Not that my own mother isn’t an amazing lady too….*smile* She really is…..In reerading this I think I need to put my comment on my blog as a kind of dedication to her (the mother-in-law not the mother….lol) So many happy memories fo this dear lady in my life…….
Praying for you that God does remove the tares from your mind. He did major gardening in mine!
Heather
great pics, an awesome legacy you are starting….
Train up a child in the way (s)he should go: and when (s)he is old, (s)he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
God Bless you my friend
That’s amazing. God is so good!
Awesome, Jim! Be blessed. Gerrie
With your edit comment, its intersting how the West, in the colonial ventures, were at time even detrimental to the Christian cause as your reference to the Belgians serve as an example. I could think of other historical situations of other countries trying to stop the advancing of Christianity also. Its ironic, considering the left leaning narrative that Christianity and imperialism goes hand in hand…tsk, tsk.
Good music brother…
Great pics and posts, very pretty gal that Rachel!
Be Blessed Bro,
Mike
Wow, you know I’m going to visit your page more often for the music!
Everytime I read about your children I am reminded of the friends I have overseas. Thanks!
The music is soul stirring.
My daughter Bri has a heart for African missions. But her father has said no to her going. Could you pray for my husband Spence, that if it’s God’s will for Bri to go to Africa, He would ease my husband’s fears
Rachel looks happy
Yes,
I have heard it is just out of this world to be able to accomplish all of the prophecies….haha, I made a pun…you are right but Jesus did!!
Be Blessed,
Mike
