Recipe for a great breakfast.
(this version takes a little time
)
1. Visit a good friend

2. Open unexpected gift from said good friend
3. Following instructions, make dough for Beignets
pronounced “bin-yay”
4. Cook in hot oil
5. Make Cafe du Monde coffee
(in a French press, of course!)
6. Coat beignets with powdered sugar

7. Enjoy…thanking God for friends and food!
You bless us with Your bounty, Lord
With love and home and food.
You lend it from an open hand
All given for our good.
Oh, fill us with your Spirit, Lord
That we might always see
That all we have, and all we are
Are graces sent by Thee.

Years ago, my husband and I attended a conference in New Orleans. We so enjoyed the beignets and Cafe Du Mond coffee, and we bought some coffee home. When we made it, it didn’t taste at all like it had down there. We followed the directions. Did yours turn out okay? I could eat beignets and pralines all day! Glad you had a good time there, and visiting your friend.

That does look good….
Yummie! My sis and I were just talking about those yummie little creations on Easter. We went to new Orleans as kids and of course have eaten Beignet’s many many times since. They are scrumptious! Good memories! I’d love to drink some of that good coffee too! It’s been too long! We were quizing eachother about what all we remembered. We were like 8 or 9. We stayed at the Dauphine Orleans and cruised Bourbon Street until the wee hours, or so it seemed. Peace!
love the music…and I bet I would love the coffee, too.
OMG! you actually MADE those? I used to love having them at a corner cafe with a french friend when I was in DC. love 2U
