12/15 Edit: Thank You, Ray ! (HeDied4U2 )
Ray has provided the HTML code for
the music player with shuffle which is
now found here.
Wow!
I’d had an idea cooking for a video post; I wanted to use
one of my favorite songs, “Mary, Did You Know?”
…then I came across the video you will find
to the left…it powerfully conveys
much of what I was thinking.
* (you’ll want to hit the “stop” button on
the musicplayer below the YouTube before you start the video)
********************
(from the Gospel, according to Luke)
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to …Mary… he said to her,
“Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.”
But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what ( this meant )..he said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”
Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?” The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God. “ … nothing will be impossible with God.” And Mary said, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
…. the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. “This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, ”Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.” When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, “Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.” So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger. When they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child. And all who heard it wondered at the things which were told them by the shepherds.
But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart.

Good post – Praise God for His wondrous Gift!
Mike
At this time of year, after seeing that video and hearing the song, knowing that “without a cradle there is no cross”, have we any other choice but to thank our Father for His gift, as well as to follow and obey with all our beings? God bless you, Jim, for this poignant reminder. (these clips on Utube are all I could handle from the Passion movie, I won’t watch the whole thing)
great video! I really want to see that movie “The Gospel Of John. As long as it has been out, I haven’t seen it!
Cowboy
Thank you for sharing that Jim. An emotional way to begin my day but one with great reminders of God’s incredible gift to us.
If I can figure out how, I’d like to post the video on my site. It should be shared with as many people as possible I think.
Blessings on your day, Sarah
and she said, “let it be done unto me as (God wants)” AmaZiing. I ponder THAT!

Jim ~ I was looking for this same video but have not had much time to search lately….it is my absolute favorite Christmas song…and it fits all year! What a blessing to see this today! Thank you! And yes, my friends xanga that you spoke of is http://www.xanga.com/lost_without_faith Its been a tough one year anniversary…do pray for him and his children…thank you…he has not posted in a long time but he still checks his xanga for comments….an encouraging word would be well received! Thanks for subbing to the new xanga as well…I hope it finds even one person out there who is in need of healing…and cannot speak the words that I will say. It may become graphic verbally …. some of the pain and anger of abused children is very, very deep….God bless! Happy Joyous Christmas Blessings!
i agree, no such thing as real luck,
but i just use the word ‘luck’ to describe things going the way you want them to coincidentally, i think a lot of people say that.
in my case, that hardly ever happens lol.
Hi Jim,
I’m sorry that I didn’t respond sooner, but it’s a long story and I have flet many different kinds of feelings. That is why I posted what I did. It was for my benefit as well as for you and anyone else on my list of friiends. To answer your comment about the music scale. I received that from someone here at Xanga. This guy told me he would put one up for me, so I said yes. He is a good guy and I asked him to let me know where he got it from. As soon as he responds I will tell you pronto!I’m really glad you enjoyed it, becauze that makes me happy. You and I haven’t had a chance to really talk, but I have often felt that there is a lot of Christians on Xanga that don’t really care one way or another how anyone else feels. I MAY be wrong, but it’s a feeling that I cannot’ seem to shake. You have always been kind with your words and I appreciate that a lot. I hope that I always return the favor to you as well. But there are others that for some reason are just not doing what they say they will do when they talk to me. Xanga may be ok for many Christians for me, it’s been a learning experience and I haven’t always found it very helpful to my Christian walk with the Lrod. I hope that wasn’t too much honesty at one time. But you are the only person at this time that I cared to discuss it with. God bless you Jim, you strike me as a very kind man. Please stop back again. You’e always welcome!
God bless you,
Joe
done with finals,
now on with the christmas season!
And reflecting on Jesus!
Yes, my friend Holly has a very gifted voice and yes, she writes her own songs. How did you hear? Did you go to her web site?
Would you like just the player with no music codes in it or would you like the music that’s in it also. Just let me know and I will send it to you.
Be blessed,
Ray
You are probably correct, people today reject the Lord, probably would even if He came to us today…Be Blessed….Mike
Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to stop by the site and comment on what I write. Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated
The past few weeks have been kind of tough for us as a family for various reasons, but God has sustained us, and we know that He will continue to do so.
We continue in the process of closing on our house. The “official” closing date is December 29th at 1:00pm, so please keep us in your prayers that the rest of the process will continue as smooth as it has. This sale will allow us to do several thing, but of the most important to us is the fact that we can assist our son in fulfilling the call of God upon his life as a Missionary (Jungle) Pilot.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, may He make His face to shine upon you and give you peace !
Phil
A hug, Jim…

ryc: The recipe is now up.
The candle isn’t my pic unfortunately. I work on a website for our church so I’ve registered for a number of sites that have gads and gads of professional looking pictures. I can’t remember which one I got that from, but if I do, I’ll give you the site address.
Enjoy the recipe! Happy baking!

Hi Jim, It’s been so long since I’ve gotten around to everyone. I really have been blessed tonight by stopping here. Reading the Christmas story ~ it never gets old. The song “Mary Did You Know” is my favorite Christmas song. It so blesses me as I think of the Son of God becoming man so that He could be our Savior! And whenever I hear the rich lyrics which with the “GREAT I AM!” I just get shivers! What an awesome God we have! Thank you for this post. Thank you, too for the encouragement you leave me on my posts, too. Your Sister in Christ ~ Carolyn

Hey there!
I am glad to see your comment with your son’s insight and also his feeling about home…
Indeed, its a great reminder once again, of those in harm way over there IN Iraq…
sometimes, its so easy through the passage of time and distance, to nearly forget…
God bless you,
and God bless your son,
Its “milli-bloggers’ like him that keep it real, and share the truth, and that truth sometime contradict what the news discuss about or ‘inform’ us with
Have you seen this latest lies that our media has been caught fabricating?

Last night Dennis and I saw the Nativity Story movie. I cried (of course) at several things in the movie, and it really struck me how yielded to God Mary and Joseph were and what a total walk of faith they had to trek throughout the pregnancy as well as rearing Jesus to adulthood. Hearing and reading it (from the Bible) was one thing; “seeing” it brought understanding to a whole new level. I want to be like them. The song you posted has even more meaning after seeing the film. Thanks so much for posting the song. God bless you this Christmas, dear brother. Gerrie
