Along the Road
Lord, God when on
the road through life,
When footing seems unsure,
make safe my track,
direct my pace,
and make my steps secure.
And, Father when
my skies are dark
and storms of life draw near,
Lord, shelter me;
safe refuge be
Until the storm clouds clear.
Oh, Father God
The way is long;
with end not fully known.
Be thou my compass
And my light.
Lord keep me as Your own.
Oh Lord through dim uncertain ways
be yet the guardian of our ways
Lord help us see Your face
Reflected in this place;
and fill (despite our fears)
our days and hours and years
with love for Your great beauty
and wonder at Your grace.

“I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:8-11

AESOME background picture. I love fall leaves against a grey sky. May I ask where it was taken?
awesome view jim. how ya been?
oooohhh, pretty.
ryc awhile back: I had no idea you had lighthouses in Michigan. It makes sense though…that’s one big lake you got there.
Also…i read one of your comments somewhere and you said you dropped your camera. I hope it’s okay. You should ask gledsome about where he dropped his camera once…
I can’t see it.
I see it now. Thanks, Jim.

wonderful poem…thanks for sharing…
Hi Jim,
I really like your picture here. I suppose it could say many things to many people. I’ve missed you lately. I mean, I haven’t seen much of you at my spot and I was just wondering if there was anything I could help you pray for. You commented on my site a few times and each time I was very taken with what you said. You seemed to be so honest and sincere, and I don’t want to lose you as a potential friend. God bless you and may you have a great weekend.
Warmly in Christ,
Joe
I feel so blessed to have discovered your site. Your pics of Mexico are wonderful. I’ve friends from church who just spent their honeymoon in Mexico building houses. What a joyful way to celebrate the gift of love God graced their lives with. I look forward to visiting your site again. Blessings, Sarah
ryc: Tommy’s best event is the 200 butterfly – he finished fourth last year and is seeded 6th this year. The 200 IM isn’t his best…I’m always surprised he even races that event..his breaststroke really slows him down. But I’m a little concerned this morning…there aren’t any results yet and I know the weather is really bad. I hope his coach gets them to the pool okay (it’s not the kind of stuff he’s used to driving in) and that they haven’t cancelled the meet altogether… It must be pretty wild where you are…
I like your poem today….Days like yesterday really make me want Spring too!!
Thanks for your comments….Mike
Hey Jim,
Good to hear from you my friend. I dont’ get around to everyones site as I want, but always try to comment back when commented. Glad to know that there are those who find assurance inthe words I write – that is certainly my goal.
How are you doing? Pray that all is well with you and the family and that you are rejoicing in the season knowing that it is not all the commercial hype that stirs our hearts this time of year, but the realization that a “Son was given – that we might have eternal life”.
Blessings to you my friend…
