When I behold October’s fire
Alit within the trees,
And stand; bathed by the golden breath
Of Indian Summer’s breeze,
I think on Him Who lights the fires
Within the human heart;
Who ‘decks the world with tapestry
Unmatched in all man’s art.
How frivolous; extravagant
For God to give such gold:
A testament through which His love
And glory may be told.
I thank you, Lord for autumn’s glow
For fire You give, so free
To light the way and warm the hearts
Of small ones such as me.

That was absolutely beautiful! You’re very talented Jim! Things on our end are good… Working thru a lot, and God is faithful! How are things on your end??
Whooaaaa.. Hey Jim! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I have been working on a project for the local school board and I had to have it finished by Friday, so I kinda had to put commenting on the back burner. It was great to hear from you ! We are all doing just fine. We haven’t sold the house yet, as the market moved to the south pole I think! We are still trying though. Hope all is well on your end. Have a blessed day my friend.

Jim thanks for your kind comments. Those are the kinds of posts that are open and raw for me, and they are difficult to do, because it’s always hard to expose your soft underbelly.

I like this one! It’s short, artful, and to the point. It brings out the feelings that it is suposed to without going on and on like some (not yours) tend to do. A great wall-hanger!

Seriously. Get Published.

Hey Mr. Smallish! That’s an awesome poem. Due to Mrs. Falk’s AP Lit training, I can tell you that it alternates between iambic tetrameter and iambic trimeter.
Unfortunately, the Tigers managed to lose the division lead on the last day to the ROYALS!!! And we had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th with only one out and all we needed was one run and we couldn’t do it. *sigh*

Even better is a good company with good people. The registry pays really well, as you probably know, but the hospital keeps cancelling me! Can’t be because they don’t like me – I’ve never worked there! I’ve worked two shifts at a hospital closer in, though. But the hit & miss pay isn’t working
You changed your profile pic….nice tree!
This job is home infusion. Elaine (former DON) says it’s pretty low stress. The office is peaceful. She says the company owner is very generous to all his employees, there’s always free food and soda in the fridge. He’s even paying the nurses full day’s pay even if they don’t have enough visits right now because it’s slow. I think I want to keep my fingers in the registry though. And toes, etc.
RYC – I take it from your comments you believe the literal facts of the flood and the rest of the Genesis account. So do I. I’m interested in creation science, but I don’t know nearly enough about it like philosophyofjoel. Do you read his site?
Hey there Jim, thank you for your warm encouragement on my xanga, I have visited your son’s page and my computer at this time blocks myspace…
By the way, keep us posted about your son…and his time in Iraq.
Also, have you ever published your poems in a collection , as a book???

So far, so good regarding the car….I need it working so Deb can take the new one to Ohio to see her Mom and Grandma (98)
Mike
RYC: Amen to that! Your grandson is with you?
I hope all is well.
Thank you for praying for us! This time we went a bit earlier and could not get the colors that we longed for. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful trip. BR
Hey

I do love photography, however, the only problem being I lack a camera.

Hi Jim ~ Thank you for your encouraging comments on my site. Your name sounded familiar, and when I looked at your sub list, I saw that we have 10 names in common! That might explain that!
I love this poem you wrote! I so relate to the sentiments expressed in this poem! I had to go back to see some of your other poems as well. I enjoy writing poetry occasionally, but you write fairly often. I guess my question would be the same as several others…. do you have a book of poetry yet? God bless you as you minister through your Xanga. ~ Carolyn
