The Emerald King
I met a handsome chap today
bedecked in brilliant green,
and thought that moment to myself
that I had never seen
a king or potentate so garbed
becrowned in jeweled chair
who ever wore a royal robe
which to this could compare.
The fellow acted unaware;
as if he felt quite plain,
though mighty men with such attire
would certainly be vain.
I understand his humble air,
‘though some might find it odd;
His raiment was not bought with gold,
but given him by God.

- Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you,
do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your
body, what you will wear… Consider how the lilies grow.
They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even
Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of
these.” ( Luke 12:22-40)

Taking a break from writing lesson plans, I checked subscriptions. And there another poem is! I love it! The scripture you mentioned is exactly what went through my mind as I read the poem, but then the surprise of the photo was priceless! Praise the Lord for His creation and the poets who mirror it in their writing:) in Him, Gerrie

What a great poem Jim!! Truly reveals that God is our source! Sometimes its hard to wrap our minds around that concept, but He truly does provide us with all our needs. But we must be the willing vessels, the mouthpiece. We are the manifestation of His love……… if we allow Him to work thru us. Amen? Have a great day! Thanks for being a blessing!

i use reason to create music, and right now, i’m using cubase to record all acoustic instruments. i have a decent vocal mic (around $500) and in the recodings i’ve done that you’ve heard, i used a fairly cheap vocal mic (around $40) for the guitar. so my set up, was playing and singing at the same time (which caused some time variations, as i wasn’t using a click track_and some quality variations, as i’m simply not that good) running both low-impedence lines through a small mixer and then (this caused futher quality issues) straight into the stock audio card via a 1/8″ jack. it’s really not that bad of a recording, but i can’t jive it with my reason files, because it’s not “studio” quality.
for that, i need to get my butt in gear and go to atlanta and spend some time with my brother-in-law whose a sound engineer for a record label. but he’s busy, and i’m busy, and still it’s no excuse. i think, for a minimul amount of money, you could be set up. get cubase (it’s cheap and easy to use, $250 me thinks) or if you can get an Mbox (which i think you should be able to pick up for around $500) that is the software *and* the Mbox itself, so your guaranteed to get studio quality recordings. then, it’s all up to the mic and the set up of the room (elimination of white noise). if you can dish out another $500 for a good mic, or if you already have one, then isolate the room. you can use blankets or whatever.
if you want, i can send you a copy of all the songs i’ve done, so you can hear the quality (as what you heard via the internet was a *very small* mp3 file, so the quality was drastically reduced), which really isn’t that bad, all things considered. i was graced with the mic and the software, so i don’t have anything in it at all at this point. but even if you could only invest a couple hundred bucks, you’d be squared away.
peace
ryc: I just looked at Noelle’s site…I assume you looked at our comments AFTER you commented? What can I say, great minds think alike:):):) well, at least if they go by scripture, they do:) Actually, I think it’s hilarious

RYC: on the story about the homeless man and the wallet, yeah, I’d say it was unusual on both parts. A real win-win. That I don’t think she really could afford to part with what she did makes it more heart-warming to me.
RYC: on the Bengal tiger, come over and see my comments
PS: Is that you and your family on the kayak trip?

That is so true. Nothing can compare to the beauty that God has created.
Hope you’re enjoying your weekend Jim :)
I always love this verse. I’m grateful for God’s promise of provision and deliverance, that we can constantly remind ourselves that God is with us.
Thanks for the post and have a blessed day. =D

Hey Jim,
Appreciate the comments, and yes we could all use some pruning if we were brutally honest. Praying God’s richest blessings on you my friend!
Phil
I love that verse.
Good effect, puncuating with a phot of the green chap himself.
