Feeling this morning, as DCTalk put it, that ” …I’m still a man in need of a Savior”.
One of those days when past sins are nagging at me.
As Paul put it,
Oh, wretched man that I am!
Who will deliver me from this body of sin and death?
Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!”
(Rom. 7-8)

Oh, Master of the
vaulting waves
Oh, Captain o’er the sea,
As you once cleansed the
leper, Lord
Today wash over me!
I cannot clean one of
my sins
Nor for one crime atone
I cannot bear the weight of them
‘though all of them I own.
It’s I who nailed You
to the tree
It’s I who raised the cost
Yet Lord it’s I who needs You most
Without You, Lord, I’m lost.
So clean me, Lord
and change my heart
purge white with crimson flow
And I’ll give thanks
with tears and praise
As all the ages roll.

Hi, Jim. I hope you are not working a twelve-hour shift on Saturday! Take care!
Kathi
I totally understand! There are days when I think I’ll NEVER overcome certain things…. and like you, it makes me even more thanful for our Savior. Thanks be to God for Jesus’ sacrifice and life at the Father’s right hand (for it is “by His life we are saved”), as well as for our siblings, that we can encourage and pray for each other. Take heart, dear brother, you’re not alone. In Him, Gerrie
You might want to read my post from March 1st.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
His mercy endures forever.
RYC: you got that right! (I thought you said Damn! when I first read that – I couldn’t believe our mild-mannered Jim would say that! – oh, don’t worry, I wasn’t mortified)
Anyway, when I was a small girl some guy did just that and I just missed getting it right in my face. By a hair’s breadth!
Amen. That’s good.
Thank you for telling me you added more. As I read the poem snatches of a melody float through my mind…but not quite enough that I can recognize it, because it’s with the ends of the verses that it comes. btw I read your daughter’s comment and went over and read her post and commented… let me know if you object to anything, ok? in Him, Gerrie
Don’t let the enemy of your soul let you get you under comdenation or guilt about past sins, if you’ve been forgiven them by the Lord, He remembers them no more.
I empathize with you. After a particularly spiritual week (for lack of a better term) this weekend has found me flagging emotionally. Sometimes I feel a deep taint even when there are no obvious infractions: I am distracted, hurried, unfocused, and do not feel very solidly grounded during such times. That may not be quite the same as guilt over past sins, but in the end, I think it may equate to more or less the same. There are times in which we feel very near to God but there are certainly others in which our emotions declare mutiny. Sometimes, we would like nothing better than for God to come down and give us a very tangible hug. There are no apparent answers, though such times can and do pass and in the end I suppose that they tend to make us more patient, compassionate, and in general better persons all the way around.
I’m sending a comment in email….
Ok, now I’m getting frustrated… I wish xanga had a chat feature. Yes, my sister just turned 49 on March 9th. Of course I teased her about this being her last “forty-something” birthday:):) I’m emailing you again the rest (and I’m telling you this so you’ll go LOOK at it:):):):)
Hi there how are you? Well we had a bad storm today and still in progress of it (yuck) praise the Lord anyway
how life?
Thanks for your comment.
You are just too funny!!! I know you answered it, but I asked some questions you didn’t answer:):):) I know, I need to just call 1-800-WHAA!
RYC: Paste away.
RYC: You must be talking about Tamara…she is my soon-to-be step-mother-in-law. Actually my Momma doesn’t do xanga, though she keeps tabs on my site. I do consider Tamara a mother-figure to me, though, but this particular post was about another woman named Jackie Christian.
I like the hymns you write! If you will allow me to call them hymns. I usually get that feel from them. Full of praise and surrender and realization of your place in God’s plan! I am really uplifted by your poetry, Jim.
I still think you should put most of them to music!
Thanks for stopping by! How was your trip? Is the boy in the picture your son? Have a great day, and Blessings to you!
That sounds like a modern hymn, they had a contest to write a modern hymn on Focus On The Family. If they have another , you should enter.
I hate it when that stupid satan tries to remind me of my past. I heard we’re supposed to remind him of his future, ha! ha!
I love the verse, His mercies are new every morning…cuz we need them every day.
I enjoyed that. Hope you post more like it.
Be blessed always.
Tamara
