Happy New Year,
friends and fellow Xangites!!!
(the following is a work in progress..call it a “progressive revelation”. I’ll be posting up bits and pieces as I get a moment here and there at work today)
New Years
* * * *
The revelers who dance the streets
and crowd the city squares
Are happy ’round the stroke of twelve,
and seem to have no cares.
But happiness is fleeting stuff -
like mist it comes and goes;
The spirit of the moment
only briefly dulls life’s woes.
There is a Spirit, quieter
Who speaks in whispered tones
And bids us comfort and good will;
Who softly calls us home.
To deeper things than
evanescent
happiness and cheer;
To joy that’s found in God alone -
To love which quells our fear.
It’s unbound love which
gives the power
To hope when all’s not fair
And shows the heart
the way to dance-
When darkness says
“Despair”
So hear the quiet call
my friend
Come revel in the Light
Release to Him
your hopes and fears
While dancing in the night.

(the sentiment at the end of the above was sparked by a passage written by Breath_Of_Dawn in August, which has run through my mind on and off ever since…)
“Drawn into the silence
Deeper than the night
Darkness only finds me
Dancing in the light”

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
“We’ll drink a cup of kindness yet, in the days of time gone by”
Happy New Year to you, too!
Kathi
Thank you for your comment. The song on my site is “The Christmas Spirit” by Donna Summer. I’m glad you like it. I heard it and it really touched me. Even though the Christmas season is behind us, I think I might leave it on there for a while. If we keep the Christmas spirit throughout the year, things may seem a little different. Have a wonderful New Year, Jim. Remember, keep smiling!

Happy New Year, Jim!
The Spirit does speak to us quietly but He assures us of His Love for us. Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year to you too!!! Oh I love Breath of Dawn’s poem. I can see why you were inspired by it.
Kind regards while Dancing in the Light… ^..^

Bravo! Bravo! Even if you don’t add another thing, you have created a wander!
Well done! 2 props!
RYC: I explained in a comment on my site.
I do what my friends in the music buisness call a “po’ boy’s copyright” what you need to do, (and your poetry is good enough that you need to protect it) is write out the poem, put it in an envelope, and send it to yourself through the mail. f you live in a small town as I do, send it through the post office drop, then it goes to the nearest city for processing. What happens is the post office will put a post mark on it, and that proves you wrote it at least by that date. Don’t ever open it. If you ever have one of your poems or songs show up somewhere and make big money or someone steals it and publishes it as their own, you can take it to court and say “look, I have a branch of the federal government that says I wrote this on this date.” I do this with all of mine. My rule is to have the poem in my files for at least 2 weeks before I post it…but I’ve written enough now that I can have enough to post one a week ’til about June even if I don’t write anymore, so the 2 week thing is just a general thing. If you actually have a bunch of poetry, and the funds, you can send them to the Library of Congress and get an official copyright. That costs about $30.
hope that helped!
Hey, I just saw that you subscribed to the Campfire! Thanks! I hope you enjoy the songs and poetry, and more than that, I hope that they minister to you and somehow bring you closer to Christ. That is the real reason I post!
See you around the Campfire!
Thanks, cowboy, for that explanation. I was wondering when Jim asked, too.
Jim, I agree with whoever said it’s good as it is even if nothing is added. And thanks for your nice comment about mine inspiring you.
I’m slowly coming up for air, but got stuck doing a double shift Friday night and have been trying to recover since, but I think I made it worse. Unfortunately, there was no choice or I would never have done that.
hey jim! nice work, enjoy this first week of the year!

RYC: yes, I’ve been off since Sat am. Today is the first day I feel conscious!
The only problem is, I can’t tell whether it’s my tick tocker, or whether it’s someone elses that is ticking louder than my own.
Hi Jim. Thanks for subscribing. I pray that the Lord will richly bless you this year.
God bless
Larry
Hey Bro Jim… thanks for the comments. Hope and pray you have a wonderful and blessed New Year and that the Lord will reveal Himself to you in a fresh and new way, each and every day of it.

Hello wanan say Hi:)
Ok. So, I’m a bit late with this sentiment…Happy New Year! The pigs photo is old but brings back fond memories. I’m hoping when Gabby is older that I can start going on trips to Haiti again. Lord grant me patience.
Be God’s.

RYC: Your words and thoughts were fine
I feel for you with the migraine thing and tinnitus. I’ll keep you in my prayers.
I wanted to let you know there’s an explanation of the challenge at my site now. The number you gave me (987b) referenced Luke 14. It will be a while before I get to writing about it, but when I do I’ll make sure to let you know.
I like the reveling in the light.
