Psalm 8
(New International Version)
A psalm of David.
1 O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
above the heavens.
2 From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise
because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:
7 all flocks and herds,
and the beasts of the field,
8 the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Like sinking into a soft bed after a long day, waking up refreshed, with cool breezes blowing, lazily having a cup or two, or three, of tea with cream and sugar while the cats venture out onto the porch to watch the morning doves scavenger for crumbs – and perhaps a lizard or squirrel or two, listening to the birds chattering their morning greeting.
Thanks, Jim, I needed that
For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be… Matthew 24:27
I just read that and your background photo reminded me of it. I’ve been thinking a lot about that lately with all that’s been going on in the world. Know what I mean?
Psalms are great.
Breath_of_Dawn: Funny thing; It wasn’t what I’d planned to post, and the song wasn’t what I was looking for, but when I read/heard it, it had the same effect on me as you so eloquently described,,,so it stayed.
Deborah: I DO know what you mean…looking @ the sky and thinking of that verse I got just the slightes little chill just now.
Lance: Your photo is great!![ family vacation? Maybe on one of your scouting trips? ; ) ]
