We will look forward to those thoughts on the habit of praise. I’ve ordered a book some missionary friends in Pakistan told me about. They had to leave Pakistan right after 9-11, but could not wait to return. Before they did return, they read a book, Harnessing the Power of Fear. It is written by Ken Nichols. I don’t know any thing about it, but my friends in Pakistan wrote that the book contained truth that helped them live in the face of terrorism. With my son going soon to Iraq I’m interested in anything that equips one to live in faith while facing fear. Paul wrote a church he dearly loved, the Philippian church, from a prison, and repeatedly told them in that letter to “rejoice”. It’s good to remember where Paul was when he wrote those words. He had learned the secret of contentment, Christ. I write all this as a reminder to myself, perhaps that is another perk of fellowship, we speak the truth to one another and we are reminded of that which our Lord has taught us.
I just read the nice comment you left on Sunday’s post. Thank you!
